Moonlight (KORklemol, Moonlight)
Moonlight is a new climbing rose variety, bred in 2004.
The bush is strong and hardy, reaching up to 2–2.5 meters in height and about 1 meter in diameter. The branched, sturdy shoots covered with dense foliage have few thorns.
The leaves are large, dark green, and very glossy.
Bright copper-red buds with elegant pointed tips bloom into amber-apricot flowers with pinkish outer petals. The flowers are large (up to 12 cm in diameter), semi-double (20–26 petals), and cup-shaped. They are gathered in lush clusters of 4–6 flowers. The flowers have a rich fragrance.
Flowering is abundant and repeatable, and under favorable conditions, it can continue throughout the whole season.
This variety is very hardy and highly resistant to diseases. It is sufficiently frost-resistant, but winter protection is mandatory. The Moonlight variety won a gold medal and the title "Best Climbing Rose" at the 2007 rose competition in Belfast.
It is ideal for vertical landscaping, looks great on various supports and pergolas, and will be a bright decoration for gazebos and relaxation areas.
