Floribunda
At the time this remarkable rose was bred, there were already several lavender-lilac and coffee roses, but none had combined lilac, brown, and pink tones like Lavender Pinocchio. The outer petals and tips of each flower are usually lavender-colored, while the inner petals and bases have light brown shades with hints of chocolate, orange, coffee, and gray tones. The buds are beautifully shaped, with enough petals to enhance the color contrast. When the flowers open, they are cup-shaped, then flatten before the petals fall off. They appear in clusters of 5-15 on a medium-sized shrub, which is disease-resistant but very thorny. The variety was widely used in breeding coffee roses and remains very popular. Lavender Pinocchio is one of the most unusual floribundas. The flowers change their color a lot: lavender, smoky plum, grayish lilac, very gently turning into a warm lilac-coffee center. The shrub is quite vigorous and disease-resistant.
