Floribunda
Many years after its introduction, Europeana remains an outstanding rose. It is hard to rival these large clusters of bright crimson flowers, highlighted by young reddish foliage. The individual flowers are quite small but appear in great numbers, in large clusters of 10-30 blooms. They are rosette-shaped and last a long time without falling. The bush blooms quickly again, and the flowers do not fade or brown in the sun, which is why Europeana is widely grown in hot countries. The foliage is dark green and glossy, the variety is strong and disease-resistant.
This profusely blooming floribunda produces semi-double or double cup-shaped rosettes about 7-8 cm in diameter of a very pure red color. Fully open flowers are accented by a cluster of bright yellow stamens in the center. Large flower clusters appear from early summer until the first frosts. The fragrance is light. Europeana’s foliage unusually retains its red tint for a long time, turning dark green only just before the flowers at the shoot tips open. The bush is dense, rounded, 80-90 cm tall and 80 cm wide. It is perfect for flower beds, borders, and grows well in containers.
This is a low-growing rose that is very often cultivated because huge clusters of dark red flowers appear regularly throughout the year. One of the best floribundas, this red floribunda is the one you should buy first.
